The short version
- This website is for information only. Nothing here is financial advice.
- Crypto is risky. Prices move fast, and lost keys or mistaken transactions can't be undone.
- Our software is open source and provided as it is. You're responsible for your own keys and backups.
- Some products may not be available or legal where you live. Please check your local rules.
1. Using this website
By using this website, the Bits-Crypto software or any related BITS service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
2. A project in development
BITS is a developing cryptocurrency and technology ecosystem. Products, features, dates and specifications described on this website may change, be delayed or not be released. Launch dates are targets, not promises.
3. Not financial advice
Everything on this website is general information. It isn't financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it isn't an offer or invitation to buy or sell anything. Do your own research and speak to a qualified adviser before making financial decisions.
4. Cryptocurrency risks
Using cryptocurrency, including BITS, carries real risks. By using it, you accept that:
- Value can change sharply. The value of BITS can rise or fall quickly and may fall to zero.
- Transactions are final. Blockchain transactions can't be reversed. Coins sent to the wrong address are usually lost for good.
- Lost keys mean lost coins. If you lose your private keys, wallet file or passphrase, nobody, including BITS, can recover your coins.
- Technology can fail. Software can contain bugs, and networks can face attacks, forks or outages.
- Rules can change. Laws and regulations about cryptocurrency differ between countries and may change in ways that affect BITS.
Only use money you can afford to lose.
5. Software and wallets
The Bits-Crypto software, including the desktop wallet and node, is open source and provided under its open-source license. You're responsible for:
- downloading it only from the links on this website and checking the published checksum;
- keeping your device, wallet file, keys and passphrase secure;
- making and safely storing your own backups;
- checking addresses and amounts before you send a transaction.
We will never ask for your private keys, seed or passphrase. The web and mobile wallets, once launched, may come with their own additional terms.
6. Mining
Anyone can mine Bits-Crypto. Mining costs money in hardware and electricity, and rewards aren't guaranteed. Mining pools, including our mining partner URPool, are run under their own terms and fees.
7. Where products are available
Some products and features, such as buying crypto or raffles, may be restricted or illegal in some countries. It's your responsibility to make sure your use of BITS is allowed where you live. We may limit or refuse access to some features in some places.
8. Other services
We link to services we don't control, such as URPool, Google Drive, GitHub and social networks. We aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices, and their own terms apply.
9. Acceptable use
Please don't misuse this website or our services. That includes trying to break or overload them, accessing them in unauthorised ways, using them for anything illegal, or pretending to be BITS or a member of our team.
10. Names, logos and code
The BITS name, logo and website content belong to BITS. Please don't use them in a way that suggests you are, or are endorsed by, BITS. The Bits-Crypto source code is available under its open-source license, which governs how you can use it.
11. No warranties
This website, the software and our services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise they will be error-free, secure or always available, or that information here is complete or up to date.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, BITS and its contributors aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website, the software or cryptocurrency, including lost coins, lost profits or lost data.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the project grows. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website after that means you accept the updated terms.
